This annual workshop and roundtable discussion is specifically geared towards new nonprofit board chairs, providing them with the resources and tools to start their new position on the right track and ensure that the nonprofit organization and Board are well prepared for the year to come.


Topics discussed usually include:


* Compliance and governance issues
* Board engagement and board performance
* Fiduciary responsibilities
* Role of Board Chair of a nonprofit compared to a private sector board or committee chair
* Your source of power and authority as a nonprofit Board Chair
* Managing a Board of volunteers
* Difference in Responsibilities of Board Chair and Staff CEO
* Areas of potential entanglements among board members and board and staff (Crossing lanes, etc.)
* What to champion during your term as Board Chair
* Where to find resources when you need advice and help?
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information you’ll need to participate.
Resources will be provided for board leadership essentials and registration is limited so that robust discussion can occur among participants. The fee for participation is $75. You will receive an invoice upon registration and can pay via Zelle; Pay Pal; or by check.
